Where to Go Out Out in Manchester This Spring

This is not a drill! Outdoor dining, drinking, and good times are officially back on the menu (can you tell we’re pumped?).

Manchester has so many great spots; whether you need a coffee break during a shopping session or want to get dressed up and enjoy fine dining, we’ve got you covered. Here’s our top 5 best places for outdoor dining in Manchester this week, and side note, they also have pretty good interiors which can be loved from 17th May 2021.

20 Stories

Super swanky Spinningfields-based restaurant and bar, 20 Stories, has a beautiful roof terrace with breath-taking views across the city. You can book via their website and with some beautiful weather seemingly on the horizon, the terrace is the perfect space to have that long-awaited catch up with friends and catch some rays whilst you’re there. We can’t recommend the seafood platter enough – mega chefs kiss!

Chorlton Tap

Perfectly placed and stumbling distance from Chorlton metro is this quirky brewery/ pub/ restaurant that is a real favourite with locals. Serving traditional cask ales, ciders and craft beers, (some of which are their own brews!) there’s something for everyone here. They also offer a choice of 5 mouth-watering roast dinners on a Sunday that taste mega. Book via their Facebook page to secure your seat.

Coal & Cotton

Distillery, kitchen, cocktails & beers is how these guys sell themselves, so they literally tick every box. This venue is super unique, with the distillery at its heart, and the gardens don’t disappoint either. Enjoy a glass of Boothstown gin, made on-site, under swags of fairy lights and canvas to keep you warm and dry from the elements (this is England, am I right!). The food is also extremely high quality if you fancy a bite and the menu features mostly British favourites with a twist. These guys even offer breakfast for the morning after the night before, winning!

Home Sweet Home

We don’t know about you, but going out for brunch has been one of the things we’ve missed most over the past few months (so much so we even wrote a post of at-home recipes!). So we’re VERY excited that this classic American beauty has outdoor space for us to meet friends, drink bloody marys, and eat pancakes. What could be better?! Nestled in the heart of NQ, why not spend a sunny Sunday checking out all this hipster’s paradise has to offer.

Grub

Bragging rights for Manchester’s biggest and best street food event are reserved for Grub, and rightly so. Open Wednesday to Sunday, with an infamous Food Fair happening on Fridays and Saturdays, followed by Plant Powered Sundays for the veggies and vegans amongst us, this place is simply awesome. Take your chances on a walk-in basis or alternatively look at availability and make a booking online. With numerous traders under one roof, it really is a foodie’s haven. Did we mention they also have themed events such as the fantastically named fizzy quizzy every fourth Wednesday of the month?

Start nudging friends into making plans across all of your Whatsapp groups as space at these top picks are booking up, and fast.
