September is officially the start of Halloween, right? Well, it is in our diaries, and we’re going all out this Autumn. Pumpkin carving is a great activity to do with your partner, your mates, or your family while watching a spooky film and getting your hands dirty. Whether you’re a beginner carver, or you’ve been training for this moment for years, we’ve got options for you.
Not ready to face the pro carving options? We don’t blame you. Keeping it simple can still make for a great pumpkin, and it’s all about enjoying yourself during the process. Here are a few of our more basic, but super-effective options.
A design full of straight lines is the best way to keep things simple, trust us. We love this, and think it would be a fun one to carve too. You can play with the number or the sizes of the stars, and make for something super unique and stand-out. This is one that’s high on our list to try out.
If you’re looking for cute but still scary with a balance of keeping things simple, this is a great option. We couldn’t say no to Mike Wazowski, and we think he’d look absolutely great lit up in a window! There are loads of different Disney-inspired ideas out there, so if you’re a House of Mouse fanatic, we bet you can find your favourite film on a pumpkin to recreate.
If you fancy yourself a bit of a pumpkin pro, and want to flex those carving skills, then we’ve got some stunning inspo ideas for you. We wish you the best of luck, and if you’re able to make these designs work, we’d absolutely love to see them.
We couldn’t resist picking this design out, based on the famous ‘Starry Night’ piece from Van Gogh. We think even the man himself would be pretty impressed with how this has come out, and while we wish that we could do this sort of design some justice, we can admit that this might be a little out of our comfort zone.
Look, we know we’ve leaned pretty heavily into these star designs, but in our defence, they look absolutely incredible, so what were we meant to do? This is a perfect choice for any star gazers or astronomy fans out there, and while we’re not saying that this looks easy, we reckon we’d give this a better go than the previous option. Let’s do this.
We know that not everyone is a fan of getting their carve on and gutting a pumpkin, so we’ve also got some cute ideas that are a little less gooey while still letting you bring out that creative streak. Grab your paintbrushes and let’s go.
We think this looks absolutely fab, and it’s actually easier to achieve than you think. A perfect option for anyone who isn’t keen on carving and having the smell of pumpkin wafting through the house, grabbing your paints and a sharpie will give you more control and let you come out with something super fun and unique.
This might be one of our favourite designs, being simple but incredibly effective. There’s plenty to play around with by using different colours, but we think that this is a stunning idea and looks absolutely brilliant. This might be our top choice for design this year!
