Now that Autumn has taken full swing, the next big thing is on its way - Halloween is almost upon us. Whether you’re looking for the fright of your life or want to go a bit more fun rather than fiendish, we’ve got some great options lined up.
Newcastle Castle is the perfect setting for anything Halloween, with an impressively spooky history. This year, they’re opening the doors to show Sweeney Todd, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and The Exorcist in the Castle Keep. These are some of our favourite Halloween classics as it is, and to be able to watch them in the Castle really adds another layer to the entire experience. This is one we’re really looking forward to.
This one starts nice and early, so it’s the perfect choice for anyone who likes to celebrate Halloween for the entirety of October. Having kicked off on the 26th September, and running through til the 2nd November 2025, Boulevard’s ‘Nightmare on Churchill Street’ Halloween show runs each night, with a variety of spooky acts, and very much encourages fancy dress.
On the 27th, 28th, and 31st of October, Beamish Museum will transform in the evening to host haunted walks, allowing you to explore the haunted grounds of Pockerly Old Hall, which is the oldest building in Beamish. With shadows lurking in Birch Wood and some other sneaky mystery guests waiting along the path of this Edwardian spot, you’ll encounter plenty of tricks during your visit.
With plenty of options to make the most of the Halloween period, we’d love to know what you get up to. Head over to our socials to share your best bits.
