Crowds of around 40,000 visitors are expected to turn out for the return of Newcastle Mela this August which will be bringing three days of music, dance, drumming, and circus acts to the city based around Pakistani, Bengali, Indian and other South Asian cultures.
Food is always a huge attraction at the festival and will include vegetarian and meat curries, as well as sweet treats. Besides the range of outlets for food, there will be stalls selling clothes, gifts, and jewellery, so it’s definitely the best place to fill your belly and your tote bag.

The Gateshead Beer & Music Festival is back and has got you covered with 3 days of incredible music, regional and national beers, and freshly prepared food.
The festival is spread out across a large field which means there is plenty of space when the sun is shining, however, with the unpredictable English weather always looming, you can shelter in their clubhouse or hang out at their marquee if the heavens open.
Throughout the festival, they’ll be raising money for three great charities, so bring along your spare change!
