Heads up, Newcastle, Easter Weekend is fast approaching. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
Whether you’re looking to spend the long weekend in a chocolate coma (us too), or fancy getting out in nature, there’s something for everyone in the ‘toon this Easter Bank Holiday. Here are some of our favourite ways to celebrate in Newcastle.
Want all of the chocolate, all of the time? We know eggs-actly (sorry) what you mean. Here are our top picks for the chocoholics among us.
A chance to flex your creativity a bit, and take home your very own chocolate creation? It’s a yes from us. La Chocolatrice’s truffle-making workshops, based in Newcastle’s Westgate Road, give you the chance to do just that, whether you’re with friends or riding solo.
And if you’re up for going a little further afield, La Chocolatrice are hosting Easter Egg workshops, exclusively in their Coxhoe location.
But be quick, as their workshops are booking up fast. Book your workshop slot (or just drool over their creations) on La Chocolatrice’s website or over on their Instagram at @la.chocolatrice.
These Geordie chocolatiers are known for thinking completely outside the (chocolate) box with their creations. And, you guess it, just in time for Easter, they’ve cooked up something truly special: three brand new Easter egg flavours for you to try. These aren’t just your bog-standard chocolate eggs, either — try Stroopwafel and Pretzel, gooey Apple Pie and Custard (with real apple), and Biscoff-flavoured Golden Eggs. Yeah, we can’t wait to try them either.
Find out more about The Chocolate Smiths’ kooky creations on their website, where you can order them direct to your door.
Who says Easter egg hunts are just for kids? If you’re looking for a fun, easy way to get egg-cited about Easter this year, look no further, and try your hand at hunting for some chocolate goodies.
If you’re looking for a decidedly more wholesome way to spend your Easter Saturday, try hunting some Easter eggs at Newcastle’s Dog & Cat Shelter on Saturday 8th April from 1 PM – 6 PM. All ages are welcome, and all proceeds go to the shelter. What’s not to love?
Bit more of a homebody? We hear you. So, why not host your own easter egg hunt at home? Simply pick up some chocolate eggs, gather your friends, family, or roommates, and get hiding.
There’s a reason this is a firm favourite year in, year out. Don’t forget to get creative with your hiding spots!
