Picture it. You’ve got a nice long weekend, the sun is shining, the Quayside is looking incredible. But what should you do, where should you go? There’s so much choice in the toon, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to pick out a few places you should try for breakfast, dinner, tea, and a treat. These are a selection of our favourites.

The Dispensary

Best breakfast spot, pancakes that will have you forgetting your own name, every plate comes out looking like a 5* meal and will have your insta followers begging to share your location

If you’re looking for a banging breakfast in the toon, The Dispensary is where you need to be. Their pancakes are out of this world, and we cannot recommend the Bueno ones enough. Every plate comes out looking a proper 10/10, and makes for an incredible insta story, too.

Olive and Bean

Looking for a lunch spot in the centre of toon with some of the best sourdough bread you’ll find in the North East, Olive and Bean is right next to the Grainger Market.

Filled with friendly, rustic vibes, their halloumi, avo and chilli jam open sandwiches is absolute perfection. They also offer a huge range of salad bowls which is perfect for the warmer weather, and don’t get us started on their toasties! This is the type of place that you become a regular without even realising it. You just can’t resist going back for more.

Sometimes, you just need a coffee and a slice of cake, and that’s just a fact. If you get hit by a sweet treat craving, Cake Stories is the place to go.

Head over to West Jesmond and you’ll find this cosy independent café, with a huge range of options. We’re a sucker for their salted caramel smores brownie – I mean, can you blame us?

Whether you’re looking to lunch, brunch, or go all-out, you’ve got endless options in the toon. Where’s your favourite spot in the city? Head on over to our socials and let us know.
