Pumphrey’s Coffee

Found in the Grainger’s Market, Pumphrey’s Coffee has been roasting its own coffee since 1750 – and wow, have they perfected it in that time. Pumphery’s is a Newcastle favourite, with locals flocking to the café every day to grab their fix – whether you want to pop in and pick up a drink to go, or stay in and watch the market streets, this is one to add to your list.

Horticulture

While Horticulture might not technically count as a café, it’s one we absolutely couldn’t miss out on as we LOVE it here. Think cottage-core goals, with wicker swing chairs and houseplants galore. They offer the best brunch that you’ll find across the city, and the coffee is some of the best that we’ve tried. Horticulture is also open in the evenings, with a tapas-style menu on offer – look, we said it isn’t traditionally a coffee place, but it’s worth it, trust us.

Camber Coffee

Camber Coffee keeps it simple, but they’ve absolutely perfected that balance. It’s a hidden gem that you’ll be so happy you’ve stumbled across, offering drinks with coffee beans exclusively from Pilgrims coffee – so you know we liked that! Pilgrims is a small local roastery, providing seasonal and sustainable products which we’re all about. The menu is also all vegetarian or vegan-friendly, another win in our books.

Tiny Tinyformerly known as Flat Caps Coffee

Just down the road from our building – perfect for a quick pit-stop for anyone in the City Co-Living community, wink wink – Tiny Tiny is the best of every coffee shop ever. Top-tier coffee, incredible food, space to get your head down and get some work done, and it’s dog-friendly too; it simply couldn’t get any better.

If you visit one of these places, make sure to let us know what you got – and if we’ve missed your favourite coffee spot, let us know on our socials @ncapartments_.
