Leila Lily’s

For a high-end, opulent dining experience, head to Leila Lily’s this Valentine’s Day. This award-winning Grey Street restaurant is nestled right in the heart of the city centre and is one of Newcastle’s most Instagrammable destinations, with garlands, greenery, and florals galore.

There’s something for everyone on the menu; from mouth-watering beef straight from their Mibrasa BBQ Grill to a Korean Chicken Burger with Wasabi mayonnaise. We’ve heard the Hot Chocolate Fondant is really something special, too, so make sure you book your table ahead of time to not miss out.

Outdoor Cinema at Ouseburn Garden

What’s better than getting comfy with your date, some snacks, and settling down for a good film? Oh yeah, doing it with beer and burgers on tap.

One for the movie lovers, Ouseburn Garden’s outdoor cinema returns this Valentine’s Day for a screening of Tony Scott’s cult classic, True Romance. Cuddle up around the cosy fire pits and tuck into scran from Brack Burger, and enjoy beer, spirits, or soft drinks from the bar.

Ouseburn Garden recommends arriving at 6:30 pm on the 14th February to make sure you bag a good seat before everyone else does.

Galentine’s Day

Galentine’s Day is officially celebrated on 13th February and despite the name, it’s not just for the girls. Here are some ideas for a great Galentine’s with your nearest and dearest, whether you’re looking for the best cocktails in the ‘toon or just a canny good night out.

Mother Mercy at Fenwick

Mother Mercy is one of the newest additions at Fenwick’s Department Store and has already caused quite a stir (wink wink).

Winner of The Chronicle’s Newcastle’s Best Bar 2022, Mother Mercy’s cocktail menu features classics with a twist, as well as some unique Mother Mercy Favourites. Their Hot Honey Margarita definitely looks to be the perfect addition to any Galentine’s outing, and we cannot recommend them enough.
