We all promise ourselves that next year will be our year – so let’s make 2024 start with a bang (literally and figuratively, of course). So, as we start the new year why not look at our best tips for how you can start your New Year to make it wholesome and fulfilling? By setting yourself up with something achievable, and starting with the small steps to get there, you never know, 2024 might be the year of ‘new year, new me’ – just what we love to hear.
Start Journaling
Writing down your thoughts, feelings, people, and things you are grateful for this year can help improve your mental health and physical wellness overall – which is something we all wish we were better at, let’s be honest. However, don’t put too much pressure on yourself to do this every day and it doesn’t even have to take up much time – just a few minutes a day can make all the difference.
Sick of eating the same thing week in and week out? Well, we feel exactly the same. So, why not try and be a little more adventurous with your cooking in 2024 and try out some new recipes? Choose something online or even buy yourself a new cookbook from your favourite cuisine and deep dive into a new way of dining at home – you never know, you may surprise yourself with some new culinary skills.
A new year, a new read, and January is the perfect time of year to snuggle up and get cosy with a new book. Reading new books can be the perfect way to unwind and get away from the chaos of social media, as well as keep your mind active. Try a new genre that you may never have read before, or stick to your favourites –whatever you want to read, we are pretty sure you’ll love it. You’ll become obsessed before you even know it, trust us, we’re speaking from experience.
Why not learn a new skill that you may have found you lacked this year? Something along the lines of knitting, writing, and photography are perfect if you want to have a wholesome hobby to take up in your spare time. However, if you really want to challenge yourself, how about going onto something such as learning how to code or learning a new language – something that will really challenge your brain? There’s something out there for everyone to enjoy, and if you haven’t even found your niche yet, now is your time.
From sports to arts and crafts to travelling (you can class anything as a hobby these days!) whatever you fancy, it’s time to start saying yes and take up a new hobby. Why not look around your local area and keep active by joining a sports team or take the time to learn to play a musical instrument? Whatever you decide to do, the most important thing is that it keeps you relaxed and happy.
