Nothing beats an Autumnal day in the toon, and we can’t wait to get out there to sample everything that Newcastle has to offer. Whether you're looking to connect with nature, or get involved in some spooky events ahead of Halloween, we've got you covered here.
Nothing says autumn like the leaves changing colour, which is why we love to get out and about in nature when the season comes in. Our favourite spot to head over to is Armstrong Park in Jesmond Dene, which while only a stone’s throw from the city centre, feels like you’re truly out in nature away from all the hustle and bustle of city life.
The Dene is utterly stunning year-round, but it really comes into its own during Autumn. We like to take the circular route, which is just over 5.5km, taking about an hour or so at a decent pace. Get yourself a pumpkin-spice latte in hand, and an autumnal playlist in your headphones - we can’t think of anything better.
One of the most gothic women of all time, Mary Shelley, wrote the legendary Frankenstein, which is now coming to stage this Autumn. From the 24th October - 1st November, you can head down to Neville Hall to see Frankenstein and his monster take the stage.
This is a great option for those who are looking for something less jump-scare and more drama, while still wanting to get involved in the Halloween spirit.
We know that haunted houses and dramatic spooky theatre isn’t for everyone, but we think that this spooky sip & paint event is an easy win across the board. On Friday, 31st October, Banyan is hosting a two-hour event that will walk you through creating your masterpiece.
Whether you’re looking for a fun event for you and a couple of mates, or want to meet a few like-minded people in a relaxed environment, this event is perfect to get creative and enjoy a few drinks in a relaxing atmosphere.
How are you going to spend Autumn in the toon? We'd love to hear your plans. Reach out on our socials to let us know.
