Whether your space just needs a refresh, (God knows we have spent a lot of time at home recently) or you’re looking to jazz up your student accommodation, we have got you covered. We’ve scoured the city to find which independent retailers have some of the most perfect interior pieces that will make your home look great, whilst also supporting our local businesses too. If we’ve missed your favourite homeware haunts, please do share them with us and spread the love!
Object, Chorlton
Run by a husband-and-wife team, this shop is crammed with perfect examples of Danish design. You’ll not only have the warmest welcome here, but also struggle to choose from the gorgeous handmade candles, crockery in super unique shades, and some beautiful, framed prints too. Happy shopping!
Rose & Grey, Altrincham
These guys know their stuff when it comes to creating stunning spaces. You can pick up some super on-trend Pampas grass, as well as having the choice of hundreds of unique vases to showcase them in. Patterned runners to jazz up your hallway and some lovely neutral throws are just a few examples of what you’ll be spending on in here.
Moth, West Didsbury
Nestled in leafy Didsbury, Moth is the perfect spot to incorporate into a lazy Sunday morning wander, accompanied by coffee. Their calm, minimalist interior is infectious and makes you want to recreate it at home. As well as gorgeous homeware they also have some luxury clothing items, so why not treat yourself too – you deserve it!
The people behind Form are extremely passionate about their makers, and showcase them in a specially dedicated area of their website. A lot of their items are not only gorgeous but sustainably produced and positive for the environment too. Guilt-free buys without neglecting design sounds pretty good to us.
Nordic Muse, Northern Quarter
Scandi-led design is absolutely having it’s time right now, and this store is another great option to bring a slice of hygge to your home without breaking the bank. Their bathroom products look, and smell, amazing and we also recommend checking out their storage offerings. Rattan baskets and slim storage boxes make great hiding spots for all the stuff we don’t want on show, and the macrame hanging plant decorations are also lovely and feel so zen in the corner of any room.
Deadstock General Store, Northern Quarter
This store is cool with a capital ‘C’, and they sell everything, so stock up on homeware but keep them in mind for presents for your nearest and dearest too. They have so many styles of cutlery that we can’t choose a favourite, as well as a tonne of candle and diffuser options to make your place smell delicious.
Do let us know if you drop into any of the above stores and what you pick up. Given that it's World Photo Day next week why not send us a snap of your haul, or how your space looks when you’ve styled it. You can find us on all major social channels.
