Reduce your plastic intake and start to recycle

The first thing you can do to help be more sustainable next year is to reduce how much plastic you use. An easy way to do this is by avoiding single-use plastics at home and out and about, and it’s always a good idea to make sure you’re using your recycling bins properly – for example, by making sure all your plastic is recycled in our weekly bin collection. It will make a bigger difference than you think, trust us.

Get yourself to the charity shops

Did you know that 60% of clothes will be thrown out before buying them? You can easily help prevent this by donating and shopping in second-hand clothing shops – it is an eco-friendly and sustainable way of helping the fashion environment. Shopping in second-hand clothing stores also makes it healthier for your bank account and you can find cheaper alternatives to high street and fashionable brands and it’s easy to find trendy clothes that way as well.

So whether you do this at home or whilst eating out, it is a good trend to hop onto to save the environment – not only that but it will also save you a few pennies too.

So why not take the time to be more sustainable next year and pick up these 3 ways to help be more sustainable in the new year? By making these little changes you’re not only benefitting yourself, but you’re putting your foot down to help with your carbon footprint – every little helps.
