The Brandling Villa | The Angry Susan

This is one of our favourite places, and it’s no surprise why. Incredible food, great drinks, and dog-friendly? What a dream!

We recommend the Angry Susan, smothered in cheesy goodness and a perfect choice to get your burger fix.

The Forth Hotel | The Big Cow

Defining themselves as the best in British pub culture with a mix of individuality, vintage character, and an off-beat edge, you know that this place is going to be good.

We absolutely demolished the Big Cow burger, featuring not just a beef patty, but beef brisket too – you know what they say, double the beef, double the fun. Probably, anyway.

Some egg-cellent choices for the chicken fans

You don’t have to tell us twice, sometimes a beef burger just doesn’t hit the spot. Make some noise for the chicken burgers coming in to save the day.

Lola Jeans | Cluck Norris

No one can make a chicken burger as Instagrammable as this place can. The décor is next level, with chandeliers adorning the ceilings and murals painted by local artists on the walls, we didn’t want to leave after finishing our meal.

Obviously, with a name like Cluck Norris, you know this burger packs a punch. We already can’t wait to get our hands on another one!

Fat Hippo | Semi-Parmed Life

Fat Hippo was born in Newcastle in 2010 and has grown to offer its jaw-dropping menu across the UK. However, home is where the heart is – and they know how to deliver a burger that will put a smile on your face for hours afterwards.

Their Semi-Parmed Life burger is something to behold, with a cheesy garlic bacon crumb that will have you drooling almost immediately.

We never forget the vegan options

Meat isn’t for everyone, and we get it. There are plenty of tasty vegan options across Newcastle for you too.

The Vegano | BBQ Beast

In a 100% vegan restaurant, you know that you’re in safe hands. The Vegano has created replicas that are so close to the real thing, that they might actually be better.

The BBQ Beast is, as promised, a monster of a burger, soaked in a home-made bourbon BBQ sauce that we’d happily drink from the bottle if they gave us the option. Delish.

Beanie Bun | Phwoar-lafel

Another 100% plant-based option, you won’t need to worry about what options they have for you on the menu – you’ll be spoilt for choice.

The Phwoar-lafel burger doesn’t need any explanation past the name; it’s just that good. You know how we love a pun, though, so they got extra points for that too.
