Pancake Day is a little later this year, but we’re still just as excited to get out and try some of the best spots in the city. Whether you’re a fan of the simple classics smothered in lemon and sugar, or you want to branch out and try something more daring – pistachio is the flavour of the month right now – we’ve got plenty of delicious options for you to try.
If you haven’t been down to Black Milk Café, you’re massively missing out. Their menu is jawdropping, with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options to ensure everyone can enjoy something delicious when they stop in.
Black Milk Café boast of serving the best pancakes in Manchester, and to be honest with you, we just can’t argue with them. We opted for the white chocolate and pistachio pancakes, and we’re pretty sure that we ingested enough sugar in one sitting to get us through to Easter, but it was so worth it. We’re already planning our next visit and eyeing up the blueberry and maple syrup plate – how are we meant to resist that?
19 Café Bar is one of our favourite spots in the city for a brunch and yap date, but it’s also a LOT of other people’s favourite place, often making it pretty hard to get in. Despite that, it’s 100% worth the wait, with some absolutely delicious offerings on the menu.
For anyone that likes to dabble with sweet and salty, their pancakes with smoked crispy bacon and maple syrup is an absolute game changer. We’re die-hard fans of salty bacon with sweet syrups, and these pancakes are the perfect balance. If you’re not feeling that, though, the Biscoff pancakes make for a very good second choice in our books.
Have you ever tried souffle pancakes before? If not, get ready for them to change your life. Fuwa Fuwa – translating to Fluffy Fluffy – is a Japanese souffle pancake house that serve up big, thick, cloud-like pancakes that will have you drooling in seconds.
For any matcha fans out there, the matcha & tiramisu is an absolutely incredible option, but we know that matcha is a bit of an acquired taste – so we’d recommend the cookies and cream for anyone looking for a safe but delicious option.
If you’re looking for somewhere to satisfy your sweet tooth this Pancake Day, we hope that you get the chance to try out one of our favourite places. If you’re looking to head somewhere else, we’d love to know – tag us on socials to share your recommendations.
