We’re well and truly in the Autumnal months now, the weather is getting colder and darker, but there’s still plenty of things to do across the city to make the most of 2024. Whether you’re looking for something artsy, or musical, or want to get ready for Christmas, we’ve picked out some of our favourite events that are coming up for you to check out.

Candlelight: A Tribute to Oasis

If there’s one thing you have to do when you’re in Manchester, it’s something Oasis-related. Get down to Halle St Peters on 14th November and experience Oasis classics like you’ve never seen them before. The Northern String Quartet do a stunning job, this will be a night that you’ll remember for a long time.

David Hockney: Bigger & Closer (not smaller & further away)

If you visited the Van Gogh exhibitions previously, this will be right up your street. Welcome to sixty years of Hockney’s work, with state-of-the-art projections and a revolutionary sound system, you have the opportunity to explore the world through his eyes. This is the first time that the show has left London, so if you want to get involved, this is your chance. Doors open 10th December, and run through to 25th January.

Halloween In The City

If you haven’t already seen the Manchester Monsters, this is your sign to get out into town and follow the routes to see them. Coming back 25th October – 31st October, huge inflatable monsters take over prime spots in the city, as well as the Weekend event of Halloween In The City, including games, competitions, costumes, arts and crafts, DJs, various live performances, and an incredible Halloween procession.

Christmas Markets

We absolutely live for the markets each year, and we’re counting down the days until they come back on 8th November through to 22nd December.
