Eat Out to Help Out: Independent Manchester

The Eat Out to Help out scheme is well underway, with many across the UK taking advantage of the government scheme, and why wouldn’t you? Numerous businesses across the UK have signed up to receive up to £10 per person that comes to their restaurant, bar or coffee shop on a Monday Tuesday or Wednesday. There are countless chains taking part in the offer, KFC, McDonalds, and Pizza Hut just to name a few. But what about the local restaurants? Read on for our full guide:

YES

YES Bar on Charles Street is back with a fully renovated beer garden, stunning roof terrace and three floors of fun. They are offering 50% off all food and soft drinks up to the value of £20. We highly recommend their pepperoni playboy pizza and speciality vegan Donner Summer kebab.

Platzki

The Great Northern’s finest foodie offering has to be Platzki. The restaurant focuses on using locally sourced, high-quality produce and specialises in polish cuisine. We highly recommend the sausage and pierogi platter. Reservations can be made on their website.

Foundation Coffee House

Foundation Coffee House has three unique locations across Manchester; the Northern Quarter, Whitworth Street and Portland Street. All three locations promise to serve the finest coffee, cakes, and brunch in Manchester. Their spacious shops are complimented by an industrial style interior and regularly host events and pop-ups (Covid-19 has put a temporary halt on this). Head into their shops Monday to Wednesday and receive all their treats half price.

Don Giovanni

Manchester's oldest independently owned Italian restaurant, Don Giovanni, is also taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. Established in 1984, Don Giovanni uses fresh produce and authentic ingredients, serving all of the Italian classics you can think of, often with their own twist. The restaurant is located on Oxford Street, close to St. Peters Square. Booking is necessary and can be done from their website.

Bunny Jackson's

Bunny Jacksons, home to the 10p chicken wing, are taking part in the Eat Out scheme. We are really excited about this one. All of their dishes are half price, as well as soft drinks, Monday to Wednesday throughout August. You don’t need to book as they are only accepting walk ins, but with limited capacity be sure to get their early. And yes, this makes the 10p wing only 5p… challenge accepted.

Alberts Schloss

Alberts Schloss is back and taking part in the government scheme. They are offering 50% off food and soft drinks Monday to Wednesday throughout August. If you want an even better deal, they are offering the chance to ‘feast out for fifteen pounds’ with a Cook Haus main and a side, plus a pudding or small plate and an alcoholic drink, all for fifteen pounds! Booking is strongly advised to avoid disappointment.

Gasworks

Built on the old Gaythorn Gas Works, the Gasworks Brew Bar is one of a small number of bars with an on-site brewery in Manchester. They offer a great classic pub food menu, in a relaxed and trendy industrial setting. Gasworks and are offering discounts of up to £10 per person.

We hope this has given you some inspiration to go out and support your local businesses. Let us know where you go, by tagging us in your Instagram photos. Remember to follow government advice and look after yourself and others.
