If You have apartments in Manchester and like us and currently wondering if Mother’s Day has actually always been in March, you’re probably looking for somewhere to take your mum and praying that everywhere isn’t fully booked.
We’re here to say, ‘no plans? No problem,’ with our favourite spots in Manchester that’ll make your mum feel like an absolute queen.
It’s a classic for a reason — dinner and drinks (especially the kind that Manchester has to offer) will never go amiss. Here are our favourite spots to suit every mum, whether they’re a fan of afternoon tea, or just a good martini.
We’re sure you’ve heard of city centre hotel King St Townhouse before — probably for their Instagram-worthy infinity pool. But did you know they serve afternoon tea too?
With fresh sandwiches, warm scones, and delicious patisserie goodies served alongside sparkling wine, this definitely isn’t one to disappoint. To book your table and find out more, visit their website.
Sometimes, there’s nothing like good old fashioned comfort food (and drink), and Watson Street’s Three Little Words is serving that in spades — with an elegant twist
Owned by the people behind Manchester Gin, it’s no surprise that their cocktails are also amazing. We’ve got our eyes on the coffee vodka Decadence Distilled, but we’ll let you make up your own mind.
Not to be glossed over is Three Little Words’ in-house distillery, where you and your mum can also grab a drink and watch distillers work for an experience like no other.
Head down to Three Little Words this Mother’s Day for their famous Sunday roast, accompanied with indulgent sticky toffee pudding and fabulous live music — so you can both soak up some atmosphere while you tuck in.
Visit their website to book your table and check out their extensive menu.
A luxurious bar sitting on the corner of Manchester’s iconic Sunlight House, Schofield’s is owned by brothers Joe and Daniel Schofield, who are looking to provide Manchester with ‘fine and classic cocktails, celebrated libations, and other fancy drinks’. Sounds good to us!
As winners of the 2022 Best Bar in the UK Award, Schofield’s is definitely one for the mums who like the finer things in life. Why not take a visit and treat your mum to one of their famous cocktails? We’ve heard their Bramble goes down a treat.
Reservations are limited so get there early to ensure a seat — as Schofield’s is a mainly walk-in venue. You can find out more on their website here.
If your mum’s a bit of a creative, or just loves to learn new skills, we’ve got you covered. Here’s our favourite activities in Manchester that offer something a little different for Mother’s Day.
We don’t know about you, but we think truffle making is an absolutely must-have life skill. They should probably teach it in schools, in fact.
If you agree, why not sign you and your mum up for Salford chocolatier R&M’s truffle workshop, where you’ll be treated to instruction by an experienced chef, learn all about the history behind the confection, and (the best part!) come away with a selection of delicious treats to enjoy at home. What’s not to love?
To find out more or book a class, head over to R&M’s website.
You heard it here first… your favourite Paint and Sip are now offering sculpting classes! At this class at The King’s Arms in Salford, you and your mum will be guided by experienced artists through how to build a pinch pot and the basics of sculpting. Then the fun part — getting those creative juices flowing and decorating your creations.
So, why not treat your mum to some quality time, and a keepsake to take home afterwards this Mother’s Day? Pro tip: make sure you arrive at 6:45 PM — sculpting starts at 7 PM sharp!
Find out more info on the event website here.
