If you’ve read some of our articles before, you know how much we love a meal out in the city – especially when Manchester has so much to offer for absolutely everyone.

Blues Kitchen

We will take ANY excuse to hustle our fine selves down to Blues Kitchen – it’s one of our favourite places to go, and it isn’t hard to see why. This Father’s day, they’re going to be showing the England vs Serbia Euro Cup Screening, which we cannot wait to watch – but not only that, they also have live music in the evening AND bottomless chicken wings. We know. It just doesn’t get any better, does it?

Hawksmoor

If you and your dad are fans of a decent steak, Hawksmoor is the choice for you. They are crowned as the best steakhouse in Manchester, offering you an incredible cut of meat and a stunning restaurant to enjoy it in. Whether you’re a bit of a steak connoisseur and like to explore different flavourings, rubs, and sauces, or simply like a cheeky medium-well and some rough-cut chips on the side, Hawksmoor is where you should be heading.

Bem Brasil

Bem Brasil is another great choice if you’re looking for a meat-based experience, but want more than the traditional steak. They offer an all-you-can-eat concept, bringing various cuts of flavoured meats to your table to try. Trust us, some of their cuts are absolutely incredible, and even when you’re completely full you’ll still find yourself eyeing up the plates coming out. They’re also offering a free can of Palma Louca craft beer for all dad’s eating with them. Win win, right?

If you’re not too fussed about a sit-down dinner, you’d rather just get out and have a few drinks for the afternoon, then look no further – we’ve got the best spots in town to take dear old dad for a cheeky bev.

The Mean-Eyed Cat

The Mean-Eyed Cat is one of our favourite bars in the Northern Quarter, and that’s saying something considering how many great bars there are. The Mean-Eyed Cat is an American-inspired dive bar – think Johnny Cash and cowboys, baby – and they have some of the best cocktails around on offer. They also have a really fun deals concept – every day between 5-9pm, you can roll a dice and win a discount for your round. Roll a 2 or a 4, and get 25% off – or roll a 6, and get your entire round for free. They also serve mini-pizzas for free with their drinks, so if you fancy a little snack to keep you going, they’ve got you covered.

Dusk Til Pawn

If you and you dad like old American rock, or fender guitars – this is going to be right up your street. Dusk Til Pawn have an extensive range of bourbons and other spirits, in a comforting décor inspired by the prohibition era that will 100% have your dad telling you old stories from ‘back in the day’. It’s a peaceful atmosphere that will have you refilling your glasses more than once with plenty of fun combos to try, and they also have live performances AND are dog-friendly, so you really can bring the whole family!

Atlas Bar

Atlas Bar have been on the map (sorry, we couldn’t resist saying it) for over 25 years now, and when they call themselves the biggest gin bar in the city, they aren’t lying. They have over 570 – yes, 570, you read that right – different gins on offer, with some flavours that we bet you didn’t even know existed. They keep the full list in their aptly named ‘Gin Bible’, and they also choose a ‘Gin of the Week’ for you to try, alongside various bar snack and nibbles that they have.

3 things to do if you don’t celebrate Father’s Day

We get it, and we’re not about to pry. If you don’t celebrate, for whatever reason, that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t get to have a fun day. We’ve got some suggestions that will make this weekend a hit in anyone’s books.

Liam Gallagher @ Co-op Live

Performing on both the 15^th and 16^th June, r kid Liam is back home and ready to kick out some tunes for us. Sorry guys, no, we doubt that Noel will be hiding backstage ready to announce a surprise reunion, but hey, who are we to flatten your dreams?

Liam’s tour is called Definitely Maybe, and will be one of the first gigs hosted in the brand-new Co-op Live Arena. Come on, let’s be honest – what could be a more Manc way to spend your weekend than with Liam Gallagher himself?

Bongos Bingo

You know the drill with this one, and if you don’t – think cheesy music, dance-offs, prizes, singalongs, cash winners – Bongos Bingo is always a hilarious night out. This is the Manchester Country Special, so they’ll be going all out for the crowd in Albert Hall on Peter Street. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran for the bingo nights, or you’ve never been but heard the stories, this is the perfect event to get in on and see what it’s all about.

Dog Fest @ Tatton Park, Cheshire

If you follow us in Instagram, you’ll know that we’ve got a soft spot for dogs. (If you don’t follow us, come on, get over there and give us a like, we promise we’re worth it.) Tatton Park is hosting Dog Fest, offering world-class displays from canine athletes, free expert advice and workshops, fun activities, shopping, plenty of treats, and, of course, time to play with the dogs. This one is an absolute must for us, we’ve already got our tickets and cannot wait.
