Living in the digital age makes that easier, from online workouts to virtual pubs, the internet is providing some great entertainment. Here are some of our top tips to avoid boredom, and some key online channels to give you some inspiration.
Whilst a lot of us are missing our gym classes and workouts, staying in doesn’t mean you can’t keep fit.
Fitness coach Joe Wicks has become the UK's PE teacher by running free classes every weekday morning, designed for children but adaptable for adults (trust us). The free 30-minute training session is streamed live on his YouTube Channel at 9am and is a great way to start the day!
Taking this time to become an expert in Pilates or Yoga? Here are some of our favourite free YouTube channels for these kinds of workouts:
From Bootcamp-style sculpting workouts, to POP Pilates, Blogilates is a great Youtube channel for getting a good workout. Basically, it’s Pilates to pop music with fitness instructor Cassey keeps you motivated along the way.
The Fitness Marshall create great dance workout videos to recent pop songs, their funny dialogue and motivation throughout keep you feeling encouraged and they have a huge choice of dances to learn. You’ll be going TikTok viral in no time!
More into your cardio? Pop Sugar Fitness have some great cardio workouts to the same music style of The Fitness Marshall but with less dancing, more squatting.
Finally, we had to mention Yoga with Adriene, her workouts not only benefit the body, but leave you feeling refreshed and cleansed. Her channel is divided up into workout lengths, so regardless of whether you have 10 minutes or 45 to spare, Adriene will have the perfect yoga class for you.
Numerous pubs and breweries have started hosting online pub quizzes amid the coronavirus lockdown, and digital happy hour has become a popular activity. Why not rally together your friends and colleagues and host a virtual quiz?
Zoom and Houseparty are great free apps that can bring people together for a well-deserved catch up.
Missing the real deal? Virtual Quiz Events have hundreds of quizzes that are organised for charity fundraisers. Players can then join in on an almost real-life pub quiz for a fee of £2. Contestants who come first, second, and third in each quiz win small cash prizes, and the charity takes the rest of the collected money as a donation to their cause. It’s a win-win!
