Another bar that you might walk past regularly without realising, The Gas Lamp is tucked away between a hairdresser’s and an acupuncturist, just waiting to be found. Downstairs, you’ll discover a staggeringly wide choice of craft ales and single malt whiskey for you to choose from.

Pen and Pencil, Northern Quarter

With drinks and food on the menu as well as resident DJ’s, the Pen and Pencil is really one you can’t miss out on. Great for a laid-back afternoon visit or for a party all-night, this is the top of our list.
