The sun is shining, we’re still snacking our way through easter eggs, and summer is finally in sight. We don’t know about you, but we think that this is the perfect weather to grab a coffee, have a good mooch around the city, and soak up the sun. Whether you’re a matcha lover or more of an iced vanilla frappe fiend, here are a few of our favourite places to pop in and grab a brew.
Smack bang in the middle of Piccadilly Gardens, you can’t miss Blank Street. Whenever we’re cutting through the gardens, whether we’re on our way for a walk around the big Primark or heading down Portland Street to try out some of the incredible food spots, Blank Street calls our name and we cannot resist.
Their shaken brown sugar cold brew is top of our list, with a sprinkle of cinnamon to really make it pop – but if you’re looking for something lighter, we’d recommend their strawberries and cream latte. This is summer in a cup, and we can’t get enough of it.
Head up to Peter Street to find the incredible Ezra & Gil, which has become a cult favourite within the city. A perfect spot for a brunch date, this menu is absolutely delicious and if you haven’t tried it out already, we can’t encourage you enough to get yourself down there for their brioche French toast.
However, we’re here to talk about coffee, so let’s discuss their white chocolate iced matcha. Matcha has become a huge deal, and we didn’t know what to make of it – but Ezra & Gil converted us after a single sip. Top tier, 10/10, no notes.
If you find yourself exploring Ancoats and need a pick-me-up, Cocoa Cabana is your designated pit stop. Now, they do a mean macchiato, but we’re bending our own rules here and looking at the other side of their menu, which is full of some of the most incredible milkshakes and hot chocolates you’ll ever find.
There’s a ton of flavours to explore, and we’ve already got our eye on trying the peanut butter hot chocolate next time we’re in the area, but we obviously had to sample the Cocoa Cabana special, which is infused with salted caramel and topped with marshmallows. Yep, it was just as good as it sounded.
Manchester is full of fantastic coffee shops, and these are just a few of our current favourites, but we’d love to hear about where you’re hanging out. Tag us on socials to share your favourite coffee spots for us to try.
