Our favourite pancake recipe

Making pancakes is a piece of cake, right? With this quick-fire recipe, you can make as many pancakes as you like, right in the heart of your kitchen. Just make sure you’ve got a good frying pan, oil, and your cupboard basics and you’ll be good to go.

You’ll probably have most of our suggested ingredients in, but to put it simply, here’s what you need for the perfect pancake mix: Flour, Baking Powder, Sugar, Salt, Milk, Butter, and Egg. To be more specific:

  • 100 grams of flour
  • 15 grams of baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon of white sugar
  • Half a pint of milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 egg

Then, all you need to do is follow our simple 2-step recipe to make the perfect stack:

Step 1: Sift flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt together in a large bowl. Make a well in the centre and add milk, melted butter, and your egg, and then mix until smooth.

Step 2: Heat a lightly oiled pan over medium-high heat. Scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake; cook until bubbles form and the edges are dry after about 2 to 3 minutes. Flip and cook until browned on the other side. Repeat with the remaining batter and then you’ll have the perfect pancakes to enjoy.

Savoury, you say?

What’s better than eggs and bacon in the morning, right? Well, how about an egg and bacon pancake, accompanied by some hot sauce to give it that extra flavour? Whether it’s poached, fried, or scrambled, you can’t go wrong with any egg combo and the perfect streaky bacon. We recommend Siracha or even Cholula hot sauce to top it off and to give it that extra kick if you fancy it. Even better, you can have these pancakes morning, noon, or night– the perfect combo and a favourite all-rounder that fits in with any time of your day.
