Spirited

Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell in a Christmas film do we hear you ask? Well, while Spirited is new to our screens after only coming out last year, it’s already a cult classic. With a modern twist of Scrooge, this musical shows us the magic of the classic Charles Dickens story in all its glory. Following the ghost of Christmas Past, Present, and Future with plenty of belly laughs along the way, we see this musical unfold into an amazing 10/10 Christmas film which is 100% something to pop on in the background or sit down and snuggle up to.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Christmas or Halloween, well how about BOTH? This is a classic favourite of ours which we think is a brill watch any time of year. With the heart-warming story of Jack the King of Halloween Town finding the magic of Christmas – what is not to love about this film? With the festivities of Christmas and Halloween merged into one, this is an easy watch for anyone wanting to have a sing-along too – with the musical magic bringing Christmas to life, it’s not one to miss on your televisions this year.

Gremlins

And on to the dark side of Christmas… Gremlins! This 1984 classic will give you the creeps, even during the most wonderful time of the year. You’ll watch the Gremlins tear through a small town, ironically showing both the Christmas spirit of naughty and nice in their behaviour, so when they are given a little hydration, they’re instantly on Santa’s naughty list. Watch out for the Gremlins this Christmas, you never know where they’ll be hiding.

Scrooged

A classic Bill Murray film, this brings another menacing twist to Christmas. Similar to the classic Charles Dickens story, Francis Xavier Cross is visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve after making a few mistakes in the run-up to the most festive day of the year. Watch this story unfold as Francis discovers his life with these ghosts sharing his most present experiences with him – humbling him to make a change. A must-watch if you like a good thrill.
