Our 3 Must-Try Baking Recipes

One of our favourite things to do over the festive period is to spend some time baking sweet treats – whether they’re all for us, to share with friends and family, or even just to try something new. If you’ve been looking for some inspo on recipes to try, we’ve got some of our favourites here.

Mince Pies

This one might seem a bit obvious, but trust us when we say that homemade hits so much better than shop-bought. You can customise as you like – we absolutely love to put a whole glace cherry in the centre of our mince pies, as an extra treat when you bite into them. If you’re feeling brave, you can make your own pastry too – but if you’re not keen on that idea, buying pre-rolled pastry is just as good.

Red Velvet Brownies

Red velvet can get some peoples backs up, but we’re a firm believer in it being a top contender. These brownies are perfectly sweet, fudgy, and moreish, we’ve not perfected just having the one so far. The best part of these has to be the cheesecake swirl through them – we recommend going slightly over the recommended ingredients there so you can get really thick bits throughout. We’re baking these ASAP!

Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies

Another controversial flavour for some, but we absolutely adore mint chocolate, especially around Christmas – candy canes are an absolute must in our house! These cookies are perfect for a pick-me-up sweet treat through the day, and look absolutely stunning presented on a plate if you’re having people round. They’re also quick and easy to make – a win-win in our books.
