Super Simple Festive Mocktails

Whether you’re hosting friends and family over the festive period or going to be a guest in a bring-your-own-bottle situation, supplying your fav seasonal drinks is a must. To make sure that you’re well prepared for either evening, we’ve put together a list of our favourite mocktails – perfect for everyone (although if you fancy a tipple, feel free to add a bit of alcohol into the mix). Cheers!

Non-Alcoholic Mulled Wine

A Christmassy favourite that is equally easy to recreate without the alcohol - use a large saucepan and into it add 500ml of pomegranate juice, 25g of golden caster sugar, 250ml of apple juice and a handful of frozen blackberries. Then add 1 cinnamon stick, 1 star anise, 4 cloves, 3 peppercorns and 1 orange cut into quarters. Heat this gently until it’s simmering, and then strain into heatproof glasses. Perfect for a winter evening with friends, this drink is a sure winner for anyone looking for something to warm the soul.

Spiced Apple with Clementine & Cloves

This recipe makes a gorgeous sticky syrup which you can then keep and add into hot apple juice or wine for a sweet yet spicy seasonal burst whenever you fancy. Heat 200ml of apple juice with 1 teaspoon of whole allspice, 1 mace blade, 2 cloves, a small strip of fresh ginger, the finely peeled zest and juice of a clementine and 100g of golden caster sugar before bringing to the boil and simmering for 10 minutes. Take it off the heat and allow it to cool before straining and bottling it. As an added bonus – we think this would be a lovely last-minute gift for your loved ones who enjoy sweet and spicy beverages.

Passionfruit & Elderflower Spritz

This mocktail looks and tastes so great that the non-drinkers at your parties will definitely be asking you for the recipe! To make, pour 50ml of passionfruit juice, 25ml of lemon juice, 2 teaspoons of elderflower cordial and 150ml of sparkling water into a champagne flute and stir gently. Pop in a few passionfruit seeds to garnish and voila!

Apple & Rhubarb Cooler

A super refreshing drink to have with your meal, this mocktail is a fan favourite. To make one glass, add ice into a short tumbler and then pour in 25ml apple juice, 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon of the syrup from a jar of stem ginger, and top up with rhubarb soda. Stir with a sprig of rosemary and leave it in the drink as a garnish. Enjoy!

We hope you are enjoying the festive season so far and if you’re doing any celebrating over the holidays, be sure to try our recipes! Let us know if you give them a go, and make sure you tag us in your pics. Season’s greetings and a happy new year.
